THE LAWYERS OF BLS CUSTOS GROUP, LLC WERE ENGAGED IN THE AIRCRAFT ACQUISITION TRANSACTION

The Company’s lawyers participated in an insurance settlement related to the “buyout” of a foreign aircraft located within the territory of the Russian Federation. Contrary to the standard settlement practice, at the moment of closing the transaction the aircraft was airborne over the territorial sea of the Russian Federation, defined as a maritime belt extending 12 nautical miles from the baselines. The foreign lessor further required that the final documentation be executed only once the aircraft was over the land territory of the Russian Federation.
This condition was duly satisfied, and the transaction was successfully completed in full compliance with applicable law and the agreements between the parties.
