BLS CUSTOS GROUP, working in cooperation with its international partners, has successfully completed its Client’s request for trademark registration in Canada.

The assignment was particularly distinctive due to the “proposed use” of the trademark by the Client staying unspecified until the projected date of trademark registration certificate issuance, something which requires additional legal procedures in accordance with local law.

It is expected that Canada will shortly join the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks, the Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks, and the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks, which will substantially streamline trademark registration in future.
